There’s something incredibly special about capturing a family’s very first baby. It’s not just about the soft details and sleepy poses—it's about the beginning of a whole new chapter. And baby Zayd’s session with this Lakeville, Minnesota family was the perfect celebration of that beginning.

Zayd, whose name means "growth" or "abundance," is already living up to his name—filling hearts and homes with more love than his parents ever imagined possible. His parents, first-time mom and dad from Lakeville, radiated pride and love. It’s always such a gift to witness that brand new kind of love—the one that changes everything overnight.

What to Bring to Your Newborn Session? Just Yourselves.

We kept the styling simple and serene, allowing baby Zayd’s natural beauty to take the spotlight. One of the best parts about booking your newborn session with me is that everything you need is already here. From soft wraps and cozy knits to dainty headbands and simple, timeless props—I’ve carefully curated a collection of essentials to style your baby’s session beautifully.

That means no need to stress over what to pack or buy in advance. Whether you’re dreaming of soft, neutral tones or a pop of muted color, I’ve got a full wardrobe of wraps, blankets, and accessories that photograph perfectly and keep your baby snug and safe.

My studio is set up to be a calm, cozy space where you can simply relax and soak up the moment. All you need to bring is your sweet baby (and maybe a change of clothes for yourself if you'd like to jump in for a few snuggly parent shots—we can absolutely make space for that, too).

Why Booking Your Newborn Session Early Matters

One of the most common questions I get is: “When should we book our newborn session?” My answer? As early as possible—ideally during your second trimester.

Newborn photography is all about capturing that tiny, sleepy, curly stage—which only lasts for a couple of weeks after birth. Because of how time-sensitive these sessions are, I only take a limited number of newborn bookings each month to allow for the unpredictability of due dates.

Booking early guarantees a spot on my calendar, so when your little one makes their debut—whether they arrive early, late, or right on time—we’ve got you covered. Once baby is here, we’ll lock in a date for your session (usually within the first 5-14 days of life), when they’re still snuggly and snoozy.

Trust me, in the blur of those early newborn days, having your session already planned is one less thing to think about—and one more thing you’ll be so glad you did.

If you're expecting and dreaming of timeless, true-to-color images of your little one, now is the perfect time to reach out. Let’s make sure we reserve a spot for your sweet baby!

Welcome to the world, baby Zayd. You are already so deeply loved. To Zayd’s family: thank you for trusting me to capture these early days. I hope these images serve as timeless reminders of these fleeting newborn moments—the quiet cuddles, tiny fingers, and that sweet, peaceful sleep.
