There’s something incredibly beautiful about capturing the quiet strength and anticipation of motherhood—especially in those final weeks before baby arrives. Lacy B came into the studio at 34 weeks, absolutely glowing and ready to celebrate this incredible season of life with her loved ones.

Creating a Calm and Intimate Space

With a minimalist vibe and soft studio lighting, we created a tranquil environment that allowed Lacy’s natural beauty to shine. She brought two stunning outfits that perfectly reflected her personal style—simple, elegant, and timeless. Whether she was cradling her bump in a flowy neutral dress or showing off her silhouette in a sleek, form-fitting look, every frame felt effortless and full of love.

Celebrating Family Connections

As with all of my maternity sessions, this one was about more than just mom. Lacy’s partner joined in for some sweet, candid moments, and we included the whole crew—kiddos and their beloved fur baby, too! These sessions celebrate the full picture of your growing family, capturing all the love and excitement that surrounds a new baby’s arrival.

Tips for a Beautiful & Stress-Free Maternity Session

Whether you're a first-time mama or adding another sweet soul to your crew, here are a few of my favorite tips to help you feel prepared, confident, and radiant during your maternity session:

1. Book Early

The best time to photograph a maternity session is between 28–34 weeks. By then, your bump is beautifully round, yet you're still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session. Booking early ensures we have plenty of time to plan the perfect vibe and coordinate with your schedule.

2. Embrace Your Style

Choose outfits that make you feel like you. Whether you’re dreaming of soft, flowy dresses or chic, form-fitting looks, you can bring your own wardrobe (like Lacy did!) or explore my client closet for timeless pieces that flatter and photograph beautifully.

3. Include Your People (and Pets!)

Partners, kids, and even your fur babies are always welcome in my studio sessions. These photos are about celebrating your growing family—whoever that includes. We’ll capture a mix of solo mama shots and natural, love-filled family moments.

4. Keep It Simple

A minimalist setting allows you to be the focus. Clean backdrops, soft lighting, and simple props let your connection and personality shine. There’s no need to overthink it—we’ll keep things calm, natural, and beautiful.

5. Trust the Process

My job is to guide you through every step—from gentle posing to helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. You don’t need to know what to do. Just show up, be yourself, and let me do the rest.

Maternity sessions are all about preserving this powerful, fleeting moment in time. If you're expecting and thinking about booking, let’s chat and create something meaningful together. You can learn more about booking here.
