Choose Outfits That Feel Like You

Plan on 2–3 outfits that make you feel confident! Mixing styles is a great idea. Here are some options:

  • One dressy outfit

  • One casual look

  • One outfit that’s totally you, like your sports jersey or favorite flannel

Natural tones and soft textures work beautifully at local parks like Ritter Farm in Lakeville or Downtown Northfield. Avoid bold logos, neon colors, or anything too busy. Let your personality shine through!

Need help deciding? I’m here to help you choose outfits, accessories, and even shoes!

Senior Session with East Oaks Photography in Minneapolis MN

Pick the Perfect Location

Living in Lakeville, Rosemount, Eagan, or the surrounding areas means we’re surrounded by beautiful locations. Do you want open fields and towering pines? Whitetail Woods is a favorite! For water views and dreamy walking paths, Lebanon Hills is always a win.

We can mix locations too. We can start at the park and then head into town for a few urban shots. This variety will help you create a stunning gallery.

Timing is Everything (Hello, Golden Hour!)

Timing is crucial for your senior photo session. The best natural light happens right before sunset. This golden glow is flattering and warm, making every photo feel a little extra magical. Don’t worry; I’ll help you schedule your session to capture the best light possible. Trust me—your photos will thank you!

Hair, Makeup & Confidence

A little extra polish goes a long way. Whether you choose to do your own hair and makeup or book a professional, aim for a natural look that makes you feel your best. Don’t overthink it; what matters most is that you feel comfortable.

Bonus tip: Bring some translucent powder or blotting sheets if it's a warm day!

Bring the Little Things

Here’s what I recommend bringing with you to the session:

  • Comfortable shoes for walking between spots

  • A water bottle to stay hydrated

  • Chapstick and powder for touch-ups

  • Any props that reflect your personality (sports gear, musical instruments, etc.)

  • A parent or friend for support—and a few laughs!

Relax—I've Got You!

Feeling nervous is perfectly normal, but you don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll guide you every step of the way, ensuring your photos look natural and effortless. My goal is to make your session enjoyable. You'll walk away with images you’re genuinely excited about.

Ready to Book?

Spots fill quickly—especially in the fall when those gorgeous Minnesota leaves start to pop. If you’re in Lakeville, Rosemount, Farmington, or nearby, let’s chat and get you on the calendar!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to capture such a special moment in your life. Remember, every senior photo session should reflect you and your unique personality.
